Job description
Job PurposeTo plan and organize the daily tasks of a team of Electricians to ensure efficient and effective completion of all required electrical maintenance work.Principal Accountabilities1) Task DelegationPrepare and disseminate the daily log of what tasks must be carried out by the Electricians and continuously monitor progress to ensure efficient planning and effective implementation of required work.2) Weekly SchedulingPrepare a weekly schedule of the tasks expected to be carried out in the forthcoming week to present it in the weekly planning meeting.3) High Voltage IsolationUpon receiving the request from the Operations Department, isolate the high voltage breakers (3.3kv & 11kv) to perform preventive maintenance in a safe manner.4) Updating of DrawingsUpon receiving drawings from Draftsmen, apply necessary updates to ensure compliance with plant needs and limitations.5) Bid TabsConduct technical analysis on the bid tabs, as per the request and directions of the Supervisor, and make recommendations to aid the decision process.6) Vendor RelationshipsAssist in defining scope of work for vendors, and provide oversight while delivery of service (if requested by Supervisor) to ensure that output is as per specifications and standards mentioned in the contract.Ensure that when the upgraded equipment arrives to the plant and is set up, it is functioning appropriately and as per DUGAS specifications to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the plant.7) Policies, Systems, Processes, and ProceduresImplement approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.8) Continuous ImprovementContribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of section systems, processes and practices taking into account international best practice , improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.9) MIS ReportsPrepare departmental MIS statements and reports of DUGAS timely and accurately to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards.Provide recommendations for the ordering of the spare parts, and recommend changes to the Min/Max levels of the warehouse for that particular inventory, to ensure optimization of cost and usage.10) Safety, Quality, and EnvironmentEnsure that all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.Additional Principal AccountabilitiesExperienceMinimum Qualifications:Diploma in Electrical EngineeringMinimum Experience: 5 years of progressive working experience in electrical maintenance, particularly in high voltage electronics, preferably in the oil and gas industry.Job-Specific Skills:Troubleshooting and decision making skillsProblem solving skillsNumerical and analytical skillsTeamwork and cooperationAttention to detail
