Technical Program Manager – Data Center Migration & Consolidation

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to oversee a strategic Data Center Migration and Consolidation program. This role is critical to ensuring a seamless transition of data center infrastructure, incorporating cutting-edge technologies, cloud adoption, and modernized infrastructure practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise in data center architecture, migrations, cloud platforms, and a proven ability to manage complex, large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• End-to-End Program Management: Lead the entire lifecycle of the data center migration and consolidation program, including scope definition, planning, execution, and monitoring. Align project deliverables with business and technical goals.
• Technical Oversight: Provide technical leadership throughout the data center migration, including in-depth knowledge of server migration, network architecture, storage solutions, cloud technologies, and virtualization. Ensure proper execution of data center designs and architectural plans.
• Cloud Integration: Develop and execute a migration strategy that involves cloud adoption (AWS, Azure, GCP), including the hybrid environment setup. Manage workloads shifting from on-premise to cloud, ensuring minimal disruption to business processes.
• Infrastructure Consolidation: Oversee the consolidation of multiple data centers into a centralized infrastructure, standardizing hardware and software platforms for improved performance, scalability, and manageability.
• Data Security & Compliance: Ensure that all migration activities adhere to data security, regulatory compliance, and governance standards, especially for highly regulated industries. Maintain disaster recovery, data protection, and business continuity protocols during the migration.
• Risk & Issue Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with data center migrations, such as downtime, data integrity issues, and unplanned outages. Develop contingency plans to reduce technical risks and business impacts.
• Collaboration with Technical Teams: Coordinate cross-functional technical teams, including networking, storage, systems engineering, cloud architects, and application support, to ensure technical requirements and timelines are met.
• Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors, third-party service providers, and cloud providers to ensure technology solutions meet business objectives. Negotiate contracts and service agreements for the migration phase.
• Performance Optimization: Drive performance improvements during and after the migration process by implementing best practices in server consolidation, cloud optimization, and data center efficiency.

Qualifications:
• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience:
• 8-10+ years of experience in data center management, migration projects, or cloud infrastructure.
• Proven experience managing large-scale data center migrations and infrastructure consolidation.
• Deep technical knowledge of data center architecture, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), and networking.
• Technical Expertise:
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization
• Proven experience in information security domain
• Experience with cloud migration strategies, hybrid environments, and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Expertise in disaster recovery, data lifecycle management, and business continuity in data centers.
• Familiarity with automation tools for migration (e.g., VMware vMotion, CloudEndure, Azure Migrate) and monitoring tools like Splunk, SolarWinds, or similar.
• Project Management Skills:
• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams (network, storage, cloud, security, and infrastructure).
• Proficiency with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), using tools like JIRA, MS Project .
• Expertise in risk management, budgeting, and vendor management.
• Certifications:
• Preferred certifications such as PMP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CCIE , Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, or VMware Certified Professional (VCP).

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in managing hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies.
• Previous experience in a FinTech or similarly regulated industry, with a deep understanding of compliance and security standards.
• ITIL or similar IT Service Management certification.
