In this role, you will:
In this compliance role, you will be responsible for indirect tax matters including VAT, Excise Tax, e-invoicing, etc (excluding ticket taxes) (“Indirect Taxes”) working with internal and external stakeholders.
Manage and monitor the indirect tax life cycle of Emirates and dnata in UAE. This will include preparing and filing accurate and complete VAT, Excise tax returns, and reconciliation with books of accounts. Ensure related refunds are claimed/payments made within timelines. Ensure tax budgets, accruals and provisions are discussed with relevant stakeholders and accurately recorded for financial reporting purposes and indirect tax KPIs are met.
Work with the inhouse Taxation advisory team in responding to Federal Tax Authority s (FTA) inquiries, notices, audits, and court cases initiated by authorities. Support in the discussions with consultants independently and recommend appropriate courses of action or remediation until resolution.
Perform regular health checks on the reporting of Indirect Tax to ensure consistent compliance. Address and resolve any issues identified during these checks.
Oversee the implementation and management of e-invoicing compliance in the UAE. This includes refining business processes and exploring automation opportunities. Additionally, provide need-based training and support to relevant teams to ensure adherence to e-invoicing regulations.
Provide data support to Emirates Outstations to ensure compliance with indirect taxes and e-invoicing regulations. Assist Finance and Accounting Managers (FAMs) in implementing new indirect taxes at existing or new stations by collaborating with various parties such as tax consultants, IATA, and Group Legal. This includes identifying the indirect tax implications of new routes, reporting these to senior management, and helping to establish the compliance framework.
Preparation of reports to senior management highlighting key tax risks and updates, as and when they arise, in line with the Group s Tax policy and procedures. Manage and respond to interim and year-end external tax audit queries related to Group tax matters.
“,”qualifications”:” To be considered for the role, you must meet the following requirements:
Bachelor Degree or Honours (12+3) in Tax, Accountancy, or other related subjects, or qualified Chartered Accountant/CPA/ACA.
8+ years in an indirect tax department of a large sized organisation or 8+ years in an indirect tax department of which at least 4 years should have been with a Big 4 advisory firm.
