Site Engineer- Terminal Construction

Terminal Site Engineer will be responsible for supervising and coordinating daily on-site construction activities at a large-scale oil & gas terminal project in Abu Dhabi. This role is key to ensuring all work is executed safely, on time, and according to project specifications.Major duties/responsibilities: Perform construction activities as per drawings, specifications and project documents in accordance with the project field procedures and site instructions.Ensure by leadership and guidance that contracted works meets all practical, commercial, requirements of productivity, quality and contract target completions. Routinely study, check and review all contractor scope as detailed in drawings, specifications and instructions, ensuring contractors proper interpretation and complianceEnsure contractors dimensional control methods for checking that the works are properly set out and supervise specialist surveying contractors where necessaryEnsure that contractors comply with all aspects of the Worksite HSE Plan and policy; site regulations, permit to work.Ensure Quality inspectors and contractor supervisors carry out the witness, inspection and surveillance check in accordance with the Quality Plan and the requirements of the Quality Control Manager.Ensure that contractors are working in the required work areas, locations and elevations and that work sequence and interfaces with other contractors are both coordinated and planned to provide continuous working to meet contract schedules.Ensure that all quality control checks and tests are instigated, with records maintained and available.Ensure practical security and protection of the works and that all contractors’ provisions for temporary plant are fit for purpose.Ensure that all construction materials, embedded items, special fixtures are approved for use and that they are stored, protected and available to workface locations as required.Assess actual construction progress and benchmark it against schedule and planned progress.Make daily safety walkdowns with EPC contractor in order to improve site safety conditions day by day.Contribute and review construction method statements. Effective construction methods and safe practicesSupervise that works are being executed according to Method statement. Effective and safe construction methods.Identify and document non-conformance issues related to constructionAssist in conducting root cause analysis & preventive measures.Collaborate with the senior leadership, build and maintain trusted relationship with key accountsElevate project teams ensuring the qualityManages the risk profile of the project, reporting on existing and new risk and action to be taken to mitigate the risk · Education requirement (bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering or equivalent)· Proven experience as a Site Engineer or similar role in construction projects.· In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and safety guidelines.· Strong understanding of construction principles, practices, and methodologies, with expertise in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.· Excellent organizational and time-management skills.· Number of years of experience required is 7+ yearsHands on experience in Oil & Gas sector, ideally in a refinery, large marine terminal or process plant.
