New Directions are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil with Autism & Complex Needs. This is a full-time, long-term role until the end of the academic year.
The School:

• Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ with Outstanding features, the school is recognised for its inclusive nature and broad learning opportunities for its pupils
• Excellent travel links – with train, bus and motorways close by
The Role:
• Full-time 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism (ASC) and Complex Needs. In class support as well as targeted interventions outside of the classroom
• Use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools like PECs, Makaton, or communication boards for non-verbal or minimally verbal pupils (desired but not essential)
• Support sensory regulation needs, including guiding pupils through sensory circuits, using sensory rooms, or implementing sensory breaks as advised by OT specialists.
The Candidate:
• Holding a Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
• Experience working with children with additional needs in a classroom setting is preferred; however, we also welcome applications from individuals with backgrounds in care, support work, sports coaching, or psychology.
