### Job Description
###

Job Purpose:

To ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, industry best practices, and internal HSE policies. The Safety Officer will promote a culture of safety on-site and support the implementation of the company’s safety management system, with compliance to the Safety Advisor Registration Scheme (SARS) guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Promote and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with SARS standards. Implement and monitor the site safety plan in line with company and project requirements. Carry out risk assessments, site inspections, and toolbox talks. Monitor and report on safety performance and compliance. Conduct incident/accident investigations and prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis. Ensure effective reporting, recording, and investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses. Help in development, implementation, monitoring & improvement of NAFFCO Group environmental health & safety programs. Support emergency preparedness plans and facilitate safety drills. Participate in client HSE meetings and audits as required. Maintain the HSE documentation system and records in line with SARS requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

SARS Registration (Safety Advisor Registration Scheme) – valid and current. NEBOSH General Certificate, NVQ Level 3/4 in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent qualification. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within construction, infrastructure, energy, or industrial sectors. Experience with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 45001) is preferred.

Other Requirements:

Willingness to travel to various sites as required. Valid driver’s license (if site travel is required). Physically capable of site inspections and assessments.
