NJC pay scale Grade 8 (Scp 22 -27) starting salary £25,998 (actual pro-rata)

Part Time, Term Time , plus 5 inset days plus 1 week

Start Date: September 2025

Closing Date: Wednesday 16th July 2025 at 12 noon

About Us:

Castlewood School is a nurturing, inclusive environment for primary and secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With a strong ethos of building confidence and self-belief, we are a close-knit community of around 100 pupils and a dedicated team committed to excellence in education and care.

The Role:

Working alongside the Safeguarding & Attendance Lead, you’ll use your expertise to support students and families, promote good attendance, and tackle barriers to learning. You’ll be a key figure in safeguarding, home visits, multi-agency collaboration, and ensuring every child receives their right to education.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement strategies to improve attendance, including rewards and incentives.
• Analyse attendance data to identify patterns and target support.
• Provide advice on attendance legislation and its practical application.
• Lead or contribute to CAFs, Core Groups, and Strategy Meetings.
• Conduct home visits and work with families to address welfare concerns.
• Liaise with external agencies including social care, health, and education services.
• Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and attendance policy development.

• Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and education law.
• Excellent communication, planning, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-agency team.
