NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada’s first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.

The Quality Management System Leader will require knowledge of Quality Management Systems in accordance with IATF 16949 requirements and other relevant standards as well as strong leadership experience. This requires the individual to have highly effective communications capabilities, time management skills and the ability to develop and nurture effective relationships with customers and related teams and departments. The role will be within a fast-paced, team-oriented, international business. Responsibilities:
• Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of our Quality Management Systems in order to achieve IATF 16949 certification and maintain standards.
• Lead the audit program per IATF 16949 requirements at a new culturally diverse business in Canada.
• Conduct internal audits in accordance with the audit program, including corrective action follow up and closure.
• Work with a diverse team of engineers and auditors.
• Facilitate the Management Review process, orgazing the KPI’s of the division and report to the management team.
• Coordinates with all levels of the organization in developing ISO 9001/IATF16949 compliant processes and documentation.
• Effective training, teaching and mentorship across the NSE organization to improve the knowledge of Quality management systems, IATF, Core Tools, CSR’s.
• Manages and leads corrective action events pertaining to internal and external issues up to and including verification, implementation and closure.
• Implement, monitor and schedule layer process audits
• Ability to conduct ‘shop floor’ audits with an average of 40% plant floor presence (PPE required)
• Lead the documentation processes and influence others to have a best quality mindset
• Setup development plans and be passionate about leading the internal audit team to a high-performing team.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field – Engineering, Science, Business is required.
• Certified IATF 16949 Lead Auditor is required.
• Core Tools experience (FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA) and certification
• Minimum of 5 years of Management System Auditing experience, with a minimum of 1 year as an IATF Lead Auditor is required.
• Experience in Quality Management Systems within a regulated industry is required.
• Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with all aspects of Quality Management (customer quality, supplier quality and manufacturing).
• Experience launching a new management system is considered an asset.
• Experience working with diverse teams.
• Global experience preferred, with manufacturing experience.
• Positive, flexible attitude with the ability to learn in a new manufacturing environment.

Qualified candidates for this position will have:
• Strong and demonstrated leadership experience.
• Ability to lead and organize an internal audit program.
• Good organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Drive to achieve and adhere to business-critical deadlines.
• A dedicated and ethical approach to NSE standards.
• Excellent data analytic skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of plant personnel with ease.
• Team focused attitude with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to develop relationships acting as a well-respected, trusted partner with whom others want to work with.
