Job Description
A Publications Specialist is responsible for managing the creation, production, and distribution of printed and digital publications for an organization. This role involves coordinating with writers, designers, and editors to develop high-quality content, ensuring consistency in branding and messaging. The specialist also oversees publication schedules, handles formatting, and ensures adherence to style guidelines. This position is crucial in producing reports, brochures, newsletters, and other corporate materials that effectively communicate the organization s goals and messages.
Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, and produce corporate publications, including reports, brochures, and newsletters
Collaborate with writers, designers, and editors to create high-quality content
Ensure consistency in branding, tone, and style across all publications
Oversee the production process, from drafting to final distribution
Manage publication schedules and ensure timely delivery of materials
Coordinate with external vendors, such as printers and designers, for print and digital publications
Edit and proofread materials to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational standards
Research and implement best practices for publication design and distribution
Maintain an archive of past publications for reference and compliance purposes
Stay updated on industry trends in publishing, content management, and digital media
Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
Proven experience in publication management, editorial roles, or corporate communications
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, or other publishing tools
Understanding of print production and digital content distribution
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Experience working with content management systems (CMS) is a plus
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Knowledge of branding, corporate messaging, and marketing principles
