A multi-disciplinary contractor specialising in refurbishment and new build scheme across the commercial, education, healthcare and industrial sectors that operate across the Southern Homes Counties and London.

Job overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage a £4+ million Design & Build new build steel frame commercial development in Greenhithe, Kent. The project has moved through tender to construction with anticipated start date of August 2025.

Responsibilities

Reporting to visiting Contracts Manager you will be:
• Interfacing with the Client and their representatives.
• Interrogating design detail and support the Planner to build up programmes of works.
• Ensure Construction Phase Plans are prepared correctly and project resources reflect the scope of works and programme.
• Work alongside a Project Surveyor for procurement and subcontractor selections.
• Chair pre-start meetings.
• Close liaison with the Design Manager, Architects, Engineers and Designers.
• Monitor the project programme to ensure key milestones are delivered and produce mid-term and short-term programmes.
• Chair monthly project reviews.
• Health, Safety and Environmental planning and implementation.

Attributes and Skills required or desired
• Proficiency in programming software such Asta Power Projects or MS Project.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive performance.
• Be prepared to work across the Southern Homes Counties for follow on projects after the successful completion of the Greenhithe scheme.
• Solid experience in new build and refurbishment schemes over £2 million in value.
• Exceptional organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is desirable.
• HNC or higher in construction related field
• In date CITB qualifications (SMSTS and CSCS) and First Aid. Temporary Works Coordinator is an advantage.
