Job Title:Officer – Database Administration

Job Purpose:
The Officer Database Administration supports the day-to-day maintenance and administration of the bank s database systems. He/ She assists in installing, monitoring, and backing up databases under the guidance of senior team members, ensuring data availability and security across on-premises and cloud environments. The Officer Database Administration contributes to the stability and reliability of the bank s data infrastructure by performing basic operational tasks and supporting improvement initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:

Assists in installing and configuring database systems in collaboration with senior administrators and application/Infrastructure teams.
Supports the monitoring of database performance and prepares basic reports on usage and issues.
Participates in routine maintenance tasks such as backups, patches, updates, and user account management and ensure the systems are current and secure.
Supports database access control procedures by helping apply security protocols and managing user permissions under supervision.
Works with the team to maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, access logs, and performance records.
Coordinates with internal IT teams and vendors to assist in troubleshooting database-related issues.
Helps test backup and recovery procedures to ensure business continuity and data protection.
Supports the collection and structuring of data for reporting dashboards, including Power BI.
Monitors scheduled jobs and scripts to ensure smooth database operations.
Participates in training sessions to develop knowledge of database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
Collaborates with other functions teams members to support in database environments and routine database requests.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or Computer Applications.
Exposure to relational database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL during academic projects or internships is preferred.
Good knowledge of database concepts, SQL queries, and backup procedures is desired.
Familiarity with operating systems (Windows or Linux) is preferred.
