We are seeking a qualified Middle School Social Studies teacher to join our team from August 2025 who is passionate about education and dedicated to nurturing the minds of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
• Uphold the GEMS Core Values of innovation, excellence, lifelong learning, and global citizenship in all aspects of teaching and student interactions.
• Deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum standards, adapting to diverse learning styles and individual student needs, including ESL and gifted students.
• Maintain accurate records of planning, assessments, and attendance, ensuring policies and codes of conduct are consistently followed.
• Use media and technology effectively in the classroom to enhance learning experiences.
• Foster student progress and well-being through academic guidance, behavior management, and promoting cultural awareness.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop teaching resources and contribute to the school’s co-curricular and extra-curricular programs.
• Communicate regularly with parents to keep them informed of student progress, upholding confidentiality where required.
• Participate in staff meetings, school events, and extra duties as needed, demonstrating commitment beyond the standard workday.
• Participate in appraisal and performance management procedures and continuing professional development.

Skills

Successful candidates will need to:
• Hold a BEd or bachelor’s degree with PGCE or PGDE or equivalent in relevant specialism.
• Have proven experience of teaching inclusion, ideally within an IB or American Curriculum School, however this is not mandatory.
• Have experience teaching at secondary or middle school level.
• Have the ability to share exemplary teaching practices.
• Have a creative and enthusiastic approach, both inside and outside the classroom.
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with colleagues, students, and parents.
• Have a proven track record of providing outstanding learning and teaching.
• Have the aspiration to work in a world-class school with real prospects for enhancing their career.
• Be willing to make a positive contribution to our school community and culture through active engagement in our extra-curricular programme and community-based events.
