Lecturer in Architecture – De Montfort University Dubai

De Montfort University (DMU) Dubai invites applications for a Lecturer in Architecture to join our Faculty of Art, Design and Humanities. This role is key to delivering a modern architecture curriculum focused on climate literacy, digital innovation, and ethical design.

The successful candidate will contribute to the undergraduate architecture programme through design studio leadership, lectures, and academic support. This includes developing curriculum content, mentoring students, and incorporating industry-relevant digital tools. As part of a dynamic academic team, you will help shape the future of architectural education within a globally engaged and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach across architecture modules including design studio, theory, and technology.

• Deliver engaging lectures, workshops, and tutorials.

• Supervise student projects and provide academic guidance.

• Integrate software tools such as BIM, AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, Lumion, VR, Adobe Suite.

• Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance.

• Participate in recruitment, exhibitions, and outreach events.

• Engage in continuous professional development.

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications

• BA/BSc in Architecture and a relevant postgraduate degree (essential)

• Attested academic credentials and UAE equivalency eligibility (essential)

• ARB/RIBA or equivalent professional registration (essential)

• PhD or research experience (desirable)

Experience & Skills

• 3–5 years of combined practice and academic experience

• Proficiency in digital/analogue architectural methods

• Experience in studio leadership and UK education standards (preferred)

• Passion for climate-responsive, ethical architecture

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
