Primary Responsibility
Responsible for developing the specific trade sector including winning new customers at all levels. To identify new business prospects & opportunities, converting these into profitable long-term business.
This role will involve generating new business, creating opportunities with both existing customers and new customers. The overall purpose is to build customer relationships, driving sales and profit in key markets.
List Areas Of Daily And Long-term Responsibilities
• Understand the market in which the company operates and how the organization’s products and services are used within the market
• Develop knowledge of demand, competition and prices
• Develop and manage portfolio of new accounts, maintaining agreed target.
• Maintain and develop customer networks and communicate effectively and efficiently with key customer contacts and internal sales forces
• Secure growth opportunities and actively solicit and manage the successful introduction of new products
• Build relationships with internal cross-functional groups (Procurement, Logistic, Delivery, Sales)
• Developing existing clients list as well as looking for the new business
• Processing orders onto the system accurately and within strict guidelines and timeframes
• Working with suppliers and colleagues to ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods
• Advising clients about the arrangements that have been made
• To discuss order requirements, checking data to customer’s records, to ensure products descriptions and numbers are accurately identified
• Checking stock levels process orders fully; which includes preparation of dispatch notes, picking lists, export paperwork and invoicing – liaising with accounts, logistics, production etc.
• Meticulous daily administration for products paperwork.
• Manage annual product and pricing reviews and maximise account profitability
• Work on new product development
• Grow and promote our business with new customers and in new trade sectors
• Research & detail development strategies for your accounts with measurable objectives for growth.
• Attend fairs, exhibitions and industry seminars where relevant.
• Drive your own training and personal development to maximise your potential within the sales team and within the business as a whole
• Assist with complex customers` queries and refer them to the relevant team accordingly
• Escalate issues to the appropriate level of management as and when necessary
• Produce weekly (or monthly) sales reports as required
• Ensure telephone, email and fax queries are dealt with to a high professional standard
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
• Ensure all documentation meets the company and legislative requirements, contributing to continuous improvement of the administrative function
• Carrying out such further tasks as may from time to time be delegated by management
• Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may be reasonably expected of the role and as necessary in order to achieve the objectives of the department and JJ Food Service goals.
• To ensure that the company internal/external customer care & equal opportunity policies are adhered to at all times.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for Health & Safety
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business requirements
Education
Educated to degree level in a relevant, appropriate discipline or able to demonstrate success for at least two years (+) in a similar role.
Physical Requirements
Lifting: The job may involve lifting occasionally boxes of paper (13 kg), computers (6 kg), archive folders, and archive boxes (16 kg),
Physical requirements: pushing, pulling the trolley to carry the above items.
Equipment: Sack barrow (trolley), use of step ladder to access folders from shelves.

The success of the role will be measured by number of new customers and their retention as well as increase in sales turnover and gross profit.
