Geoscience/GIS Internship

You will join 44.01’s Exploration team from one of our main office locations: London, UK, or Dubai, UAE. Your main contribution will be to our world-scale mapping project of potential CO2 mineralisation reservoirs, for which you’ll get guidance and data from our Exploration team through regular meetings.

Your day-to-day will also be marked by interaction with the local team for routine matters, and you’ll get numerous opportunities to learn about the intricacies of a start-up environment, as well as gain an insight into your colleagues’ work.

• Research and classify regional to world-scale geological GIS surveys of mafic and ultramafic rocks for use in a synthetic mapping project
• Study of published scientific literature and extraction of relevant data for our GIS database
• Regularly exchange on current progress
• Learn and apply good practices in GIS data collection and verification
• Document GIS sources, and the applied processing flow to reach final cartography product
• Apply your GIS experience to QGIS with the guidance of our team, to produce opportunity maps at local, regional and global scale
• You are passionate, self-driven, and currently a student in a Geology or Geography degree (BSc/MSc)
• You have a good understanding about GIS (Geographical Information Systems), enjoy working with it, and wish to learn more to make it a key skill for your early career
• You wish to learn essential skills as an all-round scientist/engineer in the dynamic environment of a startup
