GBN 451 – Live-in Governor, Dubai, boy aged 6, £1000 – £1200 net per week, start ASAP

A family who has recently located to Dubai is seeking a Governor for the care of their 6-year- old boy. The boy is very active and enjoys playing football and karate swimming, going to the park, playing with Lego along with arts and crafts. The child’s spoken English is very good, and he is continuously working on his reading and writing skills. The ideal candidate will support the boy throughout his development, especially during the first year of their

relocation to Dubai. The Governor will be required to enhance the child’s English language skills through age-appropriate activities, along with some scheduled lessons focussing on his reading and writing skills. You will be responsible for assisting and taking care of the boy’s daily needs, making sure he has a good routine and seeking learning opportunities through play. Organising and accompanying him to playdates. Communicating with teachers and ensuring homework is completed. Along with promoting good manners and etiquette and be a positive role model. There may also be some Proxy Parenting required from time – to – time when the mother travels outside of the UAE. The candidate will have a genuinely enthusiastic, energetic, friendly and relaxed manner. You must be a strong swimmer. A driver is preferred and candidates already based in Dubai with a working visa are preferred.

However, the family can provide a work visa if required along with flights at the beginning and end of the contract. The family will travel at times throughout the year and would like you to join them.

The working schedule will be Monday – Saturday with Sundays off working 8-10 hours daily. In the morning you will work from 6.30 am – 08:00 am and assist with getting him ready in the morning and dropping him off to school. School collection is at around 15:00 and his bedtime is between 19:30 – 20:00. Saturdays will be longer days and during the school holidays.

This role is to start ASAP and the salary on offer is from £1000 – £1200 net per week.

Requirements

At least 5 years’ experience working with a similar age-group

Teaching background preferred

Enhanced DBS background check in date

First Aid certificate

Contactable references (minimum 3) recent
