The American University in the Emirates seeks an experienced English Trainer to join the team. The role is to provide AUE students with language development services to support their academic success. Additionally, the English trainer supports students in achieving their academic goals and developing the skills needed to meet their educational, career, and personal goals using the full range of AUE institutional and community resources.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in American/English Literature, Applied Linguistics, or a related field from an accredited university.
• At least 2 years of teaching experience in a university setting.
• Experience in teaching IELTS/TOEFL courses is preferred.
• IELTS minimum score of 8.0.
• Preferably native English speakers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Help students develop English language skills, including preparation for TOEFL and IELTS tests, and language development in beginner, intermediate, and advanced courses.
• Coordinate the development of academic literacy through the writing lab with undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Provide English language support to students who meet AUE language entry requirements but still struggle academically.
• Offer academic, personal advising, and counseling in writing and communication development.
• Review, revise, and enhance the English Language program curriculum, assessments, and activities.
• Collaborate with lecturers regarding students’ academic writing.
• Market and promote awareness of the writing lab among students.
• Support postgraduate master’s students to improve their academic writing.About AUE:
