Job Description: Technology Lead (DevOps & Backend)

We are seeking a high-caliber Technology Lead with a specialized DevOps skillset to spearhead our development and IT infrastructure initiatives. This role is a hybrid of high-level backend engineering and modern cloud operations. You will be responsible for leading a team in designing complex microservices, while simultaneously driving our “Infrastructure as Code” (IaC) strategy for a hybrid cloud environment. Key Accountabilities

Technical Leadership & Backend Engineering

• Architecture & Design: Contribute to Low-Level Design (LLD) for complex systems, focusing on modern architectural styles like Event-driven and Evolutionary architecture.

• Core Java Development: Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Java (v8+), ensuring proficiency in object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.

• Microservices: Design and build scalable applications using Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spring Integration.

• Mentorship: Lead, guide, and perform code reviews for junior team members to maintain high code quality and craftsmanship.

DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure

• Cloud Native Solutions: Design and maintain secure AWS infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Serverless Architecture: Develop AWS Lambda functions using Python, integrating with SQS, SNS, and DynamoDB.

• Orchestration & Containers: Manage Kubernetes (EKS) clusters, including setup, configuration, and scaling of containerized workloads.

• CI/CD Pipeline Mastery: Develop and optimize automated deployment pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins, integrating static code analysis and Jira tagging.

• Automation: Eliminate repetitive tasks through Bash and Python scripting to improve operational efficiency.

Infrastructure & Security

• Networking: Manage VPCs, endpoints, certificates, and load balancing platforms (e.g., F5).

• Security: Implement security best practices and compliance controls across all cloud layers and pipelines.

• Monitoring: Use traditional and cloud-native tools to monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

• Seniority: 10–12 years of experience in a dual Development and DevOps capacity.

• Specialized Experience: At least 4 years specifically working with AWS, Terraform, Ansible/Chef, and Kubernetes.

• Certifications: Mandatory AWS Certification (Associate Solution Architect, SysOps, or Professional DevOps/Solution Architect).

Technical Skills

• Frameworks: Spring (Core, Boot, Batch, Data, Security), Hibernate.

• Databases: Proficiency in NoSQL (MongoDB) and RDBMS (PostgreSQL/Oracle); ability to design complex schemas.

• Messaging: Hands-on with Apache Kafka, ActiveMQ, or IBM MQ.

• API Management: Experience with Kong API Gateway, Swagger, and OAuth2/IdP implementations.

Soft Skills
