Job Summary

Taylor’s International Catering Services MENA is seeking a skilled and experienced Catering HSE Manager to oversee the health, safety, and environmental standards at our labour camp facility in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the catering industry, ensuring compliance with local regulations, company policies, and international best practices while promoting a safe and healthy work and living environment for employees and residents.

Key Responsibilities

• HSE Management: Develop, implement, and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and standards tailored to the catering industry, aligning with local regulations and company guidelines.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to Abu Dhabi’s occupational health and safety regulations, including OSHAD-SF standards, UAE labor laws, and other relevant requirements.
• Catering-Specific Safety: Address risks unique to the catering and food services industry, including kitchen safety, food hygiene, and handling procedures.
• Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses, particularly in food preparation and handling areas, and recommend preventive measures.
• Training: Develop and deliver HSE training programs with a focus on food safety, equipment handling, and general safety protocols for catering staff, contractors, and residents.
• Incident Management: Investigate accidents, food safety breaches, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports; and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop emergency response plans specific to catering operations, conduct drills, and ensure readiness for potential emergencies.
• Food Safety Standards: Monitor compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, or other food safety management systems to ensure high standards of hygiene and food safety.
• Waste Management: Oversee waste segregation, particularly for kitchen and food waste, ensuring environmentally sustainable practices.
• Audit and Reporting: Conduct internal HSE audits for catering operations, maintain detailed records, and prepare regular reports for senior management and regulatory authorities.
• Contractor Coordination: Collaborate with contractors, catering suppliers, and vendors to ensure their activities meet HSE and food safety requirements.
• Continuous Improvement: Evaluate HSE performance in catering and camp operations, introducing initiatives to enhance safety culture and environmental practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Food Safety, or a related field. NEBOSH, IOSH, HACCP certification, or equivalent is required.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE management, with at least 3 years in the catering, hospitality, or food services industry, preferably in labour camp or large-scale operations in the MENA region.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of Abu Dhabi OSHAD-SF, HACCP, ISO 22000, UAE labor laws, and environmental regulations related to catering.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in preparing reports and maintaining HSE documentation.
• Excellent leadership, training, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and lead diverse teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
