The Opportunity
We’re actively seeking two highly detail-oriented and proficient Architectural Drafters to join our team. This role is specifically for drafters with a proven background in residential architecture. You’ll be instrumental in translating residential architectural concepts into precise and compliant drawings for Permit submission and Construction. You will work on residential projects, such as the design of new houses, creating additional dwelling units within existing units, legalizing basements, additions, Garden Suites, and conversion from single family to two/multifamily units. Previous experience on these sorts of projects is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct site visits for various job sites to gather necessary information, take measurements, verify existing conditions and prepare as built.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and translate them into actionable design drawings.
• Prepare design proposal for client review based on the scope of the project
• Develop permit set that comply with the Ontario Building Code and all relevant municipal regulations.
• Effectively manage multiple drafting projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet established timelines and deadlines.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
• Organize and manage drawing files and project documentation efficiently.
• Prepare permit set, package for severance, Minor variance and other documents at various stages of a project.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or Diploma in Architecture or equivalent
• 5-6 years of experience in Architectural drawings/design (residential sector in Canada is a must).
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Building Code especially Part 9.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent ability to manage and navigate between multiple software applications (e.g., Outlook and CAD) seamlessly.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, taking ownership of tasks and delivering high-quality work.
• Highly detail-oriented with strong design and visualization skills.
• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills, including a professional and courteous demeanor.
• Must possess a valid Ontario G driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle for site visits.
