Hello! My son (10) and my daughter (6) are sweet, funny, empathetic, intelligent, curious and strong willed (in good ways as well!). I am a single, sole custody mom – their father does not have visitation nor does his family wish to be involved with our children. I myself am an orphan and from Ontario, so I have few natural supports at this time. We have recently transitioned back into the community from a domestic violence shelter, after 3 years of healing and finding our footing again. There are NO safety risks or concerns regarding their father whatsoever, he will not ever come to the house, I can guarantee that. Both of my children have special needs, so some experience with children with special needs is a huge bonus. That said, we utilize a wide variety of therapy tools and skills on a daily basis and this has been consistent for over 2 years.
