Middleware Architect

Role SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Middleware Architect with deep knowledge of IBM products to joinour technology transformation team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing andimplementing the roadmap for transitioning from legacy IBM middleware solutions to modernalternatives while ensuring business continuity.Key Responsibilities● Assess current IBM middleware ecosystem (WebSphere, MQ, DataPower, Integration Bus,etc.) and develop comprehensive migration strategies● Design scalable, resilient architecture patterns for replacement technologies that align withorganizational objectives● Create detailed transition plans that minimize business disruption during migration phases● Evaluate and recommend alternative middleware solutions based on business requirements,cost- efficiency, and technical capabilities● Develop proof-of-concepts to validate proposed architectural approaches● Establish governance frameworks and architectural standards for the new middlewareecosystem● Collaborate with development teams to ensure successful implementation of the newarchitecture Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams throughout the migrationprocess● Document architectural decisions, patterns, and implementation guidelinesQualifications● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degreepreferred● 8+ years of experience in enterprise architecture with significant focus on middlewaretechnologies● Extensive hands-on experience with IBM middleware products, including WebSphereApplication Server, IBM MQ, DataPower, DB2, and IBM Integration Bus/App Connect● Strong knowledge of modern middleware alternatives (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, Spring Boot,Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native platforms)● Experience leading complex middleware migration projects from inception to completion● Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies● Understanding of microservices architecture, API management, and event-drivenarchitectures● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills● Strong communication abilities with technical and non-technical stakeholders● Relevant certifications (IBM Certified Solution Architect, AWS/Azure/GCP certifications) aplusRequired Skills● Deep understanding of IBM middleware stack architecture and components● Experience with middleware migration methodologies and best practices● Proficiency in middleware integration patterns and protocols● Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization techniques● Familiarity with middleware security frameworks and compliance requirements● Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery solutionsMore info:Liaison Psychiatry Senior Clinical PractitionerSales Manager – Barrie KiaSeasonal Retail Associate (Vancouver)Disclaimer: This job listing is published by the employer.
