Qualified Social Worker (Children in Care Team)

If so, Randstad is recruiting for a Social Worker to join the Leicestershire County Council – Children in Care Team

This is a full-time role offering up to £38 per hour.

Here’s the Role:
• Managing a caseload of children and young people who are looked after by the local authority (0-18 years).
• Undertaking statutory duties for Children in Care, including direct work, regular statutory visits, and ensuring their holistic needs (health, education, emotional wellbeing) are met.
• Developing, implementing, and reviewing robust, child-centred care plans, ensuring the child’s voice is central to all decision-making.
• Working towards achieving permanence for children, whether that be reunification with family where appropriate, long-term fostering, Special Guardianship Orders, or adoption.
• Supporting children and young people in diverse care arrangements, including foster care, residential care, and supported living.
• Preparing high-quality reports for Looked After Children reviews, court proceedings, and other statutory meetings.
• Working collaboratively with foster carers, residential staff, birth families (where appropriate), schools (via the Virtual School), health professionals, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated and supportive approach.
• Championing the rights and entitlements of Children in Care and care-experienced young people.
• Maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and timely case records in line with statutory requirements and council policies.

Requirements:
• Social Work England registered
• Social Work Degree or equivalent
• Enhanced DBS

Experience:
• Children’s Social Work
