Managing all aspects of financials of a restaurant industryOngoing daily bookkeepingInvoices, payroll, profit/loss statementsAbility to effectively negotiate prices with purchasers/support servicesAccounts Payable and Accounts ReceivableFacilitating payroll / scheduling employeesIssuing invoices to customers and tracking accounts receivableMaintaining financial records and preparing documents for annual statementsTracking accounts payable and paying suppliersDaily, monthly, weekly financial reports, etc.Develop strategies for costs savings initiatives and continued business financial successPerforms other duties as assigned. Such as providing and explaining financial reports as required to management in a timely manner every week & month end. i.e profit and loss statements, monthly closing and cost accounting reports etc.Prepare and analyze financial statements specific to restaurant operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.Manage daily cash flow, including overseeing cash register operations and reconciling receipts to optimize financial performance.Conduct monthly inventory audits and coordinate with kitchen staff to maintain accurate cost of goods sold calculations.Develop and monitor budgets tailored to restaurant needs, providing insights to management for strategic decision-making.Process payroll for restaurant staff, including tracking hours worked and ensuring compliance with labor laws.Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments to vendors and accurate invoicing to customers.Prepare tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertinent to the restaurant industry.Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard restaurant assets and minimize financial risks.Collaborate with management to conduct financial forecasting and market analysis to enhance profitability.Train and support junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative environment to ensure departmental success. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a focus on hospitality management preferred.Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is essential.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent certification is highly desirable.Proficiency in accounting software specific to the restaurant industry, such as QuickBooks or RestaurantStrong understanding of restaurant financial metrics, including food cost, labor cost, and revenue management.Fluent in English; proficiency in a second language is a plus for diverse restaurant environments.Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, able to spot financial discrepancies quickly.Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with restaurant staff and management.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks with tight deadlines.A proactive attitude towards problem-solving, aiming for continuous improvement in accounting processes.
