Hutcheon Mearns Finance are delighted to be supporting our UK Present client in their search for a new Technical Accounting Manager, based in Glasgow. This is a very exciting & rare opportunity to join an easily recognisable name with their industry, which requires a blend of operational oversight, strategic thinking & people management. This role would be well-suited to candidates from a technically focussed external Audit background making their first move into industry or currently working within a similar industry role.
About the Role:
• End to end Accountability for key finance processes
• Project & asset management with high level delivery of business capitalisation and projects
• Drive service excellence & ensure delivery of operational and strategic improvements
• Key stakeholder engagement, ensuring to maintain excellent relationships across wider operations
• Key strategic business partnering, supporting the business with their multi-billion £ capital expenditure
• Optimise delivery of said capitalisation to Fixed Asset Register ensuring asset maintenance
• Manage month end sub ledger close
• Work closely with internal/external audit to close off requests efficiently
• Lead the team & driving strategic initiatives and ensuring key deliverables are met
• Lead, motivate & develop the team, identifying development opportunities and setting out clear career pathways
• Monitor performance metrics and drive continual process improvement

About You:
• Qualified Accountant (ICAS/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Experienced within Capital Expenditure (CAPEX)
• External Audit experience working within Big 4 or Top 10 Accountancy Firm advantageous
• Experience business partnering with key stakeholders & budget holders
• Strong analytical mindset with a problem solving attitude
• Managerial/leadership experience of leading, coaching & motivating teams
