Bar/Restaurant Supervisor/Keyholder Manager (Part Time)

Neepsend Social Club & Canteen’ is a bar/restaurant/gaming venue located smack bang in the heart of Neepsend which opened back in July 2022 year. We are on the lookout for a Bar/Floor Supervisor to come and get stuck in and help us continue turning our bold vision for the place into a reality.

Far from a large-scale operation NSC&C was a long time in the making. As ‘The Gravy Poutine’ we have spent the last seven years slinging food at all sorts of weird and wonderful street-food gigs and festivals up and down the country. Whilst we had a blast doing all that it was always our ambition to have a place of our own.

After a bit of post-pandemic reflection we realised that we wanted it to be more than a bar/restaurant; we wanted it to be a positive influence in the community and a place to bring people together. We don’t have a tagline but if we did it might be ‘celebrating great food, booze and companionship’. We want to laud our friendships, keep things SOCIAL and look out for our wider community.

The vibe is inspired by Britain’s great heritage of social clubs. What makes those special are the people inside and the sense of camaraderie and belonging – things we could all do with a little more of in a hectic modern world!

Inside the club, The Gravy Train is our branded kitchen but as well as dynamite fried-stuff we also have great booze, darts and table football. We’ve got started some really fun events (drag bingo and bullseye speed quiz anyone?) but there’s still so much more to do. We’re looking to set up sports teams, tournaments, all kinds of events, charitable stuff, you name it – so we need good people to help us make it happen!

The candidate will need some experience in the industry, be confident in running quieter shifts, have some knowledge of food and craft beer, and cocktails. We need someone personable, passionate and gregarious with a positive outlook that wants to really get their teeth into something creative.

The running of the venue itself is relatively straightforward, beyond that you will be helping the wider management team. There is still a long way to go in shaping the project and we need a DM with the energy and creativity to help us make it happen. We want to cultivate a fun, creative and collaborative environment for customers and staff alike.
