Job Description:

The IT Support Assistant is responsible for assisting with the maintenance and troubleshooting of the organization’s IT systems and equipment. They provide technical support to end-users, diagnose hardware and software issues, and perform routine maintenance tasks. The IT Support Assistant must have a good understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts. They should possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills to effectively assist end-users and resolve IT-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone, email, or in person to end-users.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and other IT equipment.
• Install, configure, and update software applications as needed.
• Set up and maintain computer networks, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system backups and antivirus updates.
• Create and maintain documentation of IT systems and procedures.
• Assist in the setup and support of audio-visual equipment for meetings and events.
• Train end-users on the proper use of IT systems and software.
• Diploma or degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in IT support or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
• Familiarity with different operating systems, such as Windows and macOS.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
