Application Analyst

Job Description

An Application Analyst is responsible for the administration, support, and optimization of software applications within an organization. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, configuring applications to meet business needs, and collaborating with different departments to improve system functionality. The Application Analyst ensures the smooth operation of applications by monitoring performance, implementing upgrades, and training end-users on best practices. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of software development and database management.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical support for business applications, diagnosing and resolving system issues.

Configure and customize applications to meet business requirements.

Collaborate with IT and business teams to analyze system needs and recommend improvements.

Monitor application performance and implement enhancements to optimize functionality.

Assist in software implementation, upgrades, and patches.

Develop and maintain documentation for application configurations, procedures, and user guides.

Train end-users on application usage, troubleshooting, and best practices.

Conduct system testing and quality assurance checks before deployment.

Ensure applications comply with security and data privacy policies.

Work with vendors and external support teams to manage software solutions and service agreements.

Requirements:

Bachelor s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

Proven experience as an Application Analyst, IT Support Specialist, or in a similar role.

Strong understanding of application architecture, databases, and system integration.

Proficiency in SQL, scripting, and troubleshooting software applications.

Knowledge of ERP, CRM, or other enterprise software solutions is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Experience with cloud-based applications and SaaS platforms is an advantage.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and business processes
