Job Title: Cafe Barista/All Rounder

Responsibilities:
Maintaining a Welcoming Environment:
• Keep the café environment clean, organized, and inviting at all times, including the service area, seating areas, restroom facilities, outdoors, and garbage area.
• Monitor and restock coffee supplies, soap/paper towels, packaging materials, and other essentials to ensure smooth operations and uninterrupted service.
• Help foster a respectful environment, both for team members and guests, at all times.
Crafting Delicious Coffee Beverages:
• Bar service: brew coffee, prepare espresso beverages, monitor espresso quality, calibrating as necessary. Keep machines/equipment/work stations clean and tidy throughout the day; deep clean every night at close/monthly as necessary.
Efficient Cash Handling:
• Operate the cash register with accuracy and efficiency, processing transactions promptly and handling cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments securely.
• Maintain a keen eye for detail when tendering change and reconciling cash drawer, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately. Provide assistance to customers with payment-related inquiries and resolve any issues in a professional manner.
Qualifications/Skills:
• Attention to detail to ensure quality standards
• Communication skills to accomplish tasks in a team-oriented manner
• Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot including technology (wifi outage/updating POS)
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Start catering orders/advise managers on how to get in touch with customers to complete them.
• Sandwich station: prepare, pack, and deliver orders to customers. Follow recipes and guidelines to ensure consistency.
• Monitor sell by dates/times for all items, remove and document waste as necessary.
• Keep the pastry display and retail shelves stocked and well presented.
• Receive goods and put away in timely manner/rotating products to follow FIFO (first in first out).
• Accomplish opening and closing duties, including quality checking products and areas.
Exceptional Customer Service:
• Full understanding of menu to kindly advise customers on selections/make recommendations, and begin catering orders with accuracy and detail.
• Warm Welcome: Greet every customer with a smile and a friendly greeting as soon as they walk in. Make them feel valued and welcome.
• Prompt Service: Attend to customers quickly, whether it’s taking their order, bringing their food and drinks, or addressing any questions they might have. Minimize wait times as much as possible.
• Personalized Experience: Remember regular customers and their preferences.
• Attention to Detail
• Clean and inviting Environment: Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting atmosphere. This includes the dining area, restrooms, and even the exterior of the cafe.

Cleaning & Maintenance:
• Perform thorough cleaning of the café’s interior and exterior regularly throughout the day to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Organize and maintain storage areas, including dry storage, refrigerators, and freezers, to maximize efficiency and accessibility.
• Follow established food safety guidelines and health regulations to ensure compliance with sanitation standards and protect the health and safety of customers and employees.
• Adhere to strict sanitation and food safety protocols to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with health regulations. Be prepared to handle health inspection visits.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.50-$19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
