What you’ll do:
The goal of our Guest Service Agents (GSAs) is to provide a warm welcome to every visitor who passes through our lobby and/or approaches our front desk. As a lobby host, our GSAs consider the lobby space their Great Room, and everyone who passes through it is made to feel celebrated and appreciated. Our GSAs ensure our guests’ arrival and departure experiences are warm and flawless. With a brain that is part Tour Guide, part Accountant, part Problem Solver and Talk Show Host – a GSA can easily turn a negative guest experience into the highlight of a guest’s vacation! The responsibilities of this position include:
• Warmly welcoming guests and visitors to the hotel.
• Taking responsibility for the guest arrival and departure experience (demonstrating Marriott standards).
• Orienting guests to the hotel and its services, answering guest questions about the hotel, the brand and the city of Toronto.
• Reviewing arrivals, departures, stay-overs, daily activities and following up accordingly.
• Reviewing guests’ invoices and resolving any billing issues for guests.
• Resolving guest issues as they arise.
• Reporting guest issues to the manager on duty for necessary follow-up.
• Communicating with other departments in the hotel as required.
• Answering telephone calls and directing calls appropriately.
• Depositing cash and credit/debit intake at shift closing & balancing cash float.
• Finding joy in sharing all of the wonderful things that the hotel, the city of Toronto and the Marriott brand have to offer.
• Other tasks as assigned.
What you’ll offer us:
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and fosters a culture of respect and positivity.
• Hospitality or tourism and travel studies preferred.
• Proven ability to meet and exceed guest expectations.
• Good computer knowledge – Knowledge of PMS an asset.
• Previous hotel experience – (front desk experience is preferred).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Must have customer service experience.
• French and/or other languages considered an asset.
• Personable, organized, and able to prioritize.
• Must thrive in a team environment.
• Have a good knowledge of the tourism and hospitality offerings in Toronto.
• Must be able to work evenings, mornings, overnights, weekends and holidays
